Magdalena Tsoneva

Manager of Training and Research Activities

Magdalena has spent her entire professional career at the Karin Dom Foundation since the start of the Centre’s activities. Since 2006, she has been part of the Training Centre team, and in 2021 she took on the role of manager of training activities.

Her work involves organising, promoting, and developing the training activities and spreading the Karin Dom model of working with children with special needs and their families. She maintains communication and builds partnerships with international trainers and partners, actively participates in Karin Dom’s project activities, and organises training sessions and conferences with international speakers. She is involved in advocacy regarding early childhood development, early intervention, and inclusive education.

Magdalena has contributed to the development of Karin Dom’s Early Intervention service, firmly believing in the benefits of working in the child’s natural environment and applying a family-oriented approach.

Education

  • Master’s degree in Engineering Management – Technical University, Varna

  • Participation in trainings and qualifications organised for the Karin Dom team with leading lecturers from the UK, Canada, the USA, and others
  • Exchange of experience within project activities with European partners and visits to services for children and families
  • Participation in national and international conferences and seminars
  • Summer Institute “New Practices in Early Childhood Assessment and Intervention” led by Prof. Karl Dunston, a leading researcher in Early Intervention – University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada
  • Work on the translation and adaptation for Bulgaria of the child development screening tools: Ages and Stages Questionnaires ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE
