Stilina Ivanova is 23 years old from Varna, currently a third-year student specialising in Physiotherapy at the Medical University of Varna.
Stilina has been professionally involved in swimming for 12 years, 6 of which were with the national team. Her competitive career ended in 2020, and she now coaches swimming for both typically developing children and children with special needs as part of the Karin Dom team.
Here is what Stilina shares about her work and inspiration: “My current work is a dream come true for me, as even during my competitive years I wanted to show the beauty of water and the calm it makes us feel when in contact with it. Passing on my swimming knowledge combined with the therapeutic methods of the science I study is a pleasure, especially with children, as they have been my passion since I was little. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to show children that water is our friend, not a source of fear or sadness, when we know how to use it and be one with it.”
