Iliyana joined the Karin Dom team after completing training at the Training and Professional Development Centre (CPD) in 2015 as part of the Montessori Club. She officially became part of the team at the end of 2016. She manages cases as a social worker and advises families on changes in the educational system, directing them to opportunities for material or financial support through the relevant social services. In her work, she applies a family-oriented approach. She assists in referring families to specialists to resolve social-legal, socio-economic, and other issues they face.

She uses therapeutic art applications, working with small groups of typically developing children; refugee children; art therapy activities in small groups for children with special needs; art therapy for siblings of children with special needs; and for parents and close relatives of children with special educational needs.
