Boryana Yaneva has been part of the Karin Dom team since 2019. She has over 10 years of experience in social work with children and parents. She consults families of children with special needs and supports them in the therapeutic process. She has participated in a European project for the development of foster care in Bulgaria and the deinstitutionalisation of children. She has conducted training sessions for prospective foster parents and has been a member of the commission for the approval and assessment of foster parents in the city of Varna.

She is part of the Karin Dom training team. She conducts training for student interns in the Karin Dom Internship Academy. She mentors students and supervises student placements. She participates in conferences and additional training to enhance her qualifications with international lecturers, related to social work and therapeutic approaches used at Karin Dom. The topics she trains on, which relate to her qualifications and interests, include: Social work with children and families, Foster care, Prospective adopters, Working with documentation in social services, Laws and regulations – function and how to use them, Working with and counselling parents, Licensing and preparation of annual reports, and others.

  • Doctoral candidate at Technical University of Varna, Department of Social and Legal Sciences, specialising in Social Policy and Psychological Research
