Specialties: Early Childhood Development Consultant Speech and Language Therapist Pedagogue
Svetla Lazarova has been part of the Karin Dom team since 2014, working as a speech and language therapist-consultant in the “Early Intervention” service. She conducts home visits as part of the programme, providing consultations to parents, relatives, and/or caregivers. Svetla carries out developmental assessments for children using appropriate tools and gathers information from various sources. She integrates, summarises, and discusses the assessment results both verbally and in writing with the family and other team members in a clear and accessible manner. She identifies the concerns, priorities, and resources of the family through suitable methods and techniques, and organises the environment in the child’s home. Svetla works in a multidisciplinary team and develops a service plan with the active participation of the family, forming effective activities to achieve the goals in the individual plan.
She participates in playgroups and family-mediated intervention groups at Karin Dom. Svetla collaborates with fellow consultants, members of the therapeutic team, colleagues from nurseries/kindergartens, resource teachers, and social institutions. She is involved in Karin Dom’s projects as a trainer, consultant, supervisor, speech and language therapist, and special educator.
