Honorary Member
Mr Ivan Stanchov is an honorary member and lifelong ambassador of the ideas and values of the Karin Dom Foundation. Born in 1929 in Sofia, he graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, USA. In 1990, he returned to Bulgaria for the first time after 47 years and devoted himself continuously to charitable and socially beneficial activities.
On 24 November 2021, Ivan Stanchov (Johnny) passed away-a philanthropist, traveller, dreamer, and eternal optimist for whom nothing was impossible. He dedicated his life to the cause of children with special needs and inspired many followers to dream with him of a brighter and better world for children. His love and kindness were contagious; he was a person who gave his all and will forever live in the hearts of those whose lives he changed.
Born on 1 April 1929, Ivan Stanchov spent his entire life engaged in charitable work and never stopped thinking about Bulgaria. He founded Karin Dom in 1996 with a great desire to bring change for children in Bulgaria and to stop the abandonment of children in institutions. His greatest dream was that every child would have a chance for education and be raised with love.
