Worldwide Orphans Foundation representatives were guests at a work visit at Karin Dom with the teams from Vietnam, Ethiopia, Haiti and USA. They were introduced to Karin Dom’s work and the organization’s development in the past years, our success and work methods, as well as inclusion of music therapy and Toy Library as part of the children’s therapy. The guests observed sessions in physiotherapy, sensory room, and trampoline therapy. The team also observed integrated group session in music therapy for the children and group for family-mediated intervention for children and parents “Little+”.
Worldwide Orphans Foundation in and international non-government organization with the mission of changing the lives of orphans and children living in an unequal state, helping them become productive members of the communities they belong to. WWO was found in 1997 by pediatrician Dr. Jane Aaronson. WWO is in partnership with public organizations in five countries (Bulgaria, Serbia, Vietnam, Haiti and Ethiopia) in order to ensure the development of resources for children with special needs through games and training.
Karin Dom’s Toy Library is the result of our partnership with Worldwide Orphans Foundation since 2012. The Library has more than 160 toys that are chosen with high safety standards and are designed to aid the child’s development from the age of 0 to 7 years.
Toy Library is located in the garden of Karin Dom and it’s open and free to all children and parents from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 14:00 to 16:00.
