On February 11, 2021, Karin Dom conducted the latest of the series of online trainings for teams for Early Intervention from Community centers across the country. The trainings are conducted on the partnership initiative of UNICEF Bulgaria and Karin Dom “Capacity Building for Providing Quality, Family-oriented Early Childhood Intervention Services”.
During the training, our colleagues Svetlana Angelova (speech therapist, special teacher at the Early Intervention Center, methodist, and manager of the Early Intervention Team at Karin Dom) and Nikoleta Yoncheva (speech therapist) developed the topic of assessing the needs of the child and family, and drawing up an individual family plan, as well as tracking progress. Together with the participants, they discussed the family and the support of parents and the child from an early age, the factors that lead to long-term results, the development of the child’s potential, and improved family confidence.
Our collaboration with UNICEF is mainly focused on improving the quality of early childhood intervention provided to children with disabilities and the provision of family-oriented services, early childhood intervention, and support for the transition to inclusive preschool education.
