We are pleased to invite you to become part of the International Conference of Karin Dom: “Effective approaches to support early childhood development and cross-sectoral cooperation” – 29.07 – 01.08.2020 , by joining two online packages with exceptional specialists from the United States.
Cathy is an early intervention specialist and an autism and behavior counselor with over 22 years of experience working with young children with autism spectrum disorders and their families. She is the coordinator of individualized curricula, focusing on teaching parents to implement evidence-based home learning strategies. National and international presenter on topics, including autism spectrum disorders, early parent-mediated intervention (family-mediated intervention), professional counseling and teaching methods with successful training, presented in India, Georgia and Bulgaria. She currently teaches courses at the University of Portland and student workshops. Practitioner with experience in group work with children on the autistic spectrum and their parents, advises community partners (schools and kindergartens), provides ongoing training for parents and educators.

– Webinar on 30.07.2020 from 16:00 to 17:15 on the topic: “Family-mediated Intervention: Building Skills and Confidence in Professionals, Parents and Children with Special Needs”
– Practical session on 01.08.2020 from 16:00 to 18:00 on the topic: “Family-mediated Intervention in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Learning Through Play and Functional Activities. Strategies for Success”.
Judy has a master’s degree in science and is an associate professor. Lecturer at the University of Oregon. Early Childhood Intervention Consultant at Open Society Foundations. Judith Newman is the Director and Co-Founder of the CARES Early Childhood Program, an early childhood intervention and special education program for Lane County, Oregon. She is a senior policy adviser to the Lane County Early Learning Alliance. Her more than 30 years of experience include direct service delivery, administration, university teaching, participation in numerous research activities and extensive work in state and local councils, committees and working groups related to education policies, systems and funding, services and in particular early childhood care. For the past 10 years, she has worked for Open Society Foundations, Holt International and the University of Oregon as an international consultant in several countries on the development and implementation of legislation, policies and practices related to early childhood intervention systems.

– Webinar on 30.07.2020 from 17:30 to 18:45 on the topic: “How Cross-Sectoral Cooperation in The United States Works in Support of the Child in Nursery/Kindergarten, School”
– Practical session on 01.08.2020 from 9:00 to 11:00 on the topic: “Working with Parents/Advocacy”.
