About the Karin Dom Foundation
Karin Dom was established in 1996. by the famous Bulgarian diplomat and philanthropist Ivan Stanchov. This is a dream come true, both for its creator and for parents, children and professionals who over the years have united their efforts into a common goal on behalf of children. Karin Dom is named after Ivan Stanchov’s cousin – Karin, who has cerebral palsy, but leads a full life and is an extremely compassionate and inspiring person.
Karin Dom embodies a completely different model for providing services not only for children with special needs, but also for their families. Our team is constantly evolving by providing not only therapy for children, but also an environment for development, training, emotional growth, both for the children and their families.
The services of Karin Dom are aimed both at children with special needs and their families (we work with children from 0 to 7 years) and at all professionals in the field who need to upgrade their knowledge and skills to work with children with special needs. In recent years, we have directed serious resources into conducting trainings for primary teachers, medical professionals, students, etc., so that they can feel more confident and effective in their work, thus we actively support the process of inclusive education in our country.
The trainings are conducted with the support of the VELUX Foundations.
