Opportunities for continuous professional support of specialist working with children with special needs

Karin Dom’s training programme includes opportunities for individual or group consultations, supervisions, monitoring and assessment. Supervising and consulting are increasing the work quality by improving the work situation. After the consultations, the professionals get an idea on how tо resolve a particular case or type of cases, they manage matters of organizing the services, both the strong and weak sides of the organization and/or the team are revealed. Supervising helps the specialists to examine the therapeutic interventions, to clearly assess their work with the service’s user and to achieve understanding for the personal skills and their weak sides.

On December 11, 2014, another work meeting was held in Targovishte, on monitoring and assessment of the project “Change Through Action”. Participants were specialists from the NGO Club Targovishte and Karin Dom’s trainers Zvezdelina Atanasova and Andreas Andreou. The topic was “Preparing an Individual Plan for Family Services /IPFS/ with the Early Intervention programme /EI/”. Real cases were discussed as well as IPFS, prepared by the NGO Club. The objective condition of the children in relation with the goals was discussed. The dynamics of the set tasks was revised. The possibility for revising the tasks, according to the progress of the children and the family’s participation was also discussed. Cases, suggested by the trainers were used in order to clarify the practical tasks and goals. After a series of trainings, consultations and supervisions, the ambitious NGO Club Targovishte is developing its potential.
