Ambassador Giuseppina Dzara and Honorary Consul Antonio Tarquinio visit Karin Dom

It was a great honor for Karin Dom to open its doors and welcome the Ambassador of Italy to Bulgaria Giuseppina Dzara and the Honorary Consul of Italy in Varna Mr. Antonio Tarquinio, who visited us on 28.07.

The visit also coincided with the celebration of sending off the children, future first-graders, who were attending therapy at Karin Dom. Mrs. Dzara and Mr. Tarquinio took part in the celebration, happily sharing with parents, children and the team their excitement about being in Karin Dom today, and wished the children a successful start, and for Karin Dom – to continues to grow, develop and support.

After the children’s celebration, Ambassador Zara and Consul Tarquinio took a short tour of the center to see the environment, and then over a cup of coffee we discussed not only current topics in social and educational services, but also real opportunities for long-term partnership. We talked about good practices in inclusive education in Italy and exchange opportunities and why it is important that civil society organizations supporting children and families be sought and included by government agencies, in working groups and discussions on issues related to early childhood development, early intervention and effective and innovative models to support children with special needs.

Ambassador Giuseppina Dzara is an old friend of Karin Dom and Mr. Stanchov, who visited the center more than 22 years ago. Her first meeting with the center’s mission was in 1998 as a volunteer. Her affection and love for Karin Dom was felt in the smile and warm attitude, strong personal and emotional connection with the history of the center, ready to continue her support for us and interest in the new center.
