Yesterday at an official ceremony, the State Agency for Child Protection (SACP) presented for the first time the distinctive sign “I guarantee a happy childhood” as recognition of guaranteeing the rights of the child. We are very proud that the Karin Dom Foundation team won the “I guarantee a happy childhood” award in the Innovation section. We are honoured for significant innovation for our efforts and successes in Early Intervention at a regional and national level. On behalf of Karin Dom, the award was received by Denitsa Dimitrova – a member of the Management Board of Karin Dom.
The ceremony was attended by the Social Minister – Biser Petkov, UNICEF Representative for Bulgaria – Jane Muita and former Social Minister – Christina Hristova, who will now serve as the adviser to newly elected Vice Prime – Minister Mariana Nikolova. 73 plaques for municipal, legal, non-governmental and civic organizations, social and universal services for children in three categories for sustainable development, successful change and significant innovation were distributed.
A 7-member commission evaluated the candidatures. The head of the jury is the Chairperson of SACP Dr. Eleonora Lilova. The members are representatives of the Consultative Council, the Children’s Council, the academic circles, the NAMRB, as well as public figures.
“All candidates will receive plaques. They are distinguished by the fact that they have fought for recognition of the quality of service for years and have made many children happy. It was very difficult to highlight the top three of the winners, “Lilova said.
Thanks for this recognition of our longstanding work on the Early Intervention Program!
