The New Center for Social, Health and Educational Services of Karin Dom Opened Its Doors

Today we officially opened the new Karin Dom – we cut the ribbon together with partners, friends and donors and builders!
The ribbon was cut by the Mayor of Varna Municipality – Mr. Portnih, Borislava Cherkezova, Executive Director of Karin Dom, Engineer Hristo Dimitrov, Manager of “Planex” EOOD, Arch. Bilyana Asenova and arch. Sasa Ciabatti – architects of the building, Lea Kaliszan, representative of the Velux Foundations, which financed the project, Maya Doneva, general secretary of EASPD, Vesi Vasileva, coordinator of the project for the construction of the new complex, children and parents.
The event was dedicated to the founder of Karin Dom and ambassador of goodness for children in Bulgaria – Ivan Stancioff, who continues to inspire us with his love for children and faith in tomorrow.
Ivan Stancioff’s daughter – Feodora Stancioff, who is a member of the Board of Directors of Karin Dom, was also an official guest of the event.
We thank all our guests, all the responsible businesses and institutions that supported us on this difficult path in the construction of the new complex of Karin Dom!

Karin Dom relies exclusively on donors for the equipment of the new complex.
With the construction of the new specialized center, the organization continues the work of diplomat and philanthropist Ivan Stancioff, who founded Karin Dom 26 years ago. Karin Dom is one of the first civil organizations in Bulgaria, which leads a fight against the institutional care of children with disabilities and which has a qualitatively new approach to children with special needs and their families. Ivan Stancioff began his work with the idea of creating a new model for services for children with special needs, so that the abandonment of these children in homes could stop. He managed to convince his family to provide the hereditary villa “Three Wells” in the Sea Garden of Varna for the purposes of the foundation, which he named Karin Dom – after his first cousin Karin, born with cerebral palsy.
