Karin Dom’s training for teachers from kindergartens in Varna

What are the elements of the supporting environment, what is unacceptable behaviour, how can you improve the concentration in children with special needs – those are some of the matters that had been discussed during Karin Dom’s training. The training took place from 10th to 12th June 2014, with the participation of 28 teachers from 10 general education kindergartens in Varna.

The training program presented the following subjects: integration of the children and partnership with the parents, organizing and building of the environment, positioning and leading the children, the Montessori method, alternative methods for communication and sensory stimulation.

The kindergarten teachers talked about the obstacles they meet in the process of integrating children with special educational needs at kindergartens – the large number of children in a group, the lack of qualified social assistants, interaction with the parents. At the end of the training the participants showed their satisfaction with the gained knowledge and the raised motivation in managing the challenges of their work.
