Results of Karin Dom’s Christmas Campaign 2015

Dear friends,

We are very excited to announce the results of Karin Dom’s Christmas Campaign 2015. Together, we raised 13 579BGN from the sale of Christmas cards and calendars, made with drawing of the children who visit Karin Dom for therapy.

The funds will be used for the service “Group for Social Integration in Montessori Environment”, which is used by 35 children each month. The group was created in 2004 with the support of Solvay Sodi, and uses the Maria Montessori system. Social integration is of great importance in caring for children with special needs. It helps the children to feel accepted, understood and loved, and alongside with the activities and therapy, it helps them grow up with confidence and independence, developing their potential and becoming an inseparable part of society.

In the social integration group, the children exercise physically with the help of physiotherapists. They do activities according to the Montessori system, where they acquire pre-school, social and daily skills, art therapy, music therapy. We organize numerous social activities – celebrating holidays, visiting art exhibitions, concerts, theater, circus, shopping, birthday parties and events with their peers from mainstream kindergartens and schools.

Due to the importance of the service for improving the quality of life of children with special needs, part of the group’s funding comes from the state and the rest from donations. We are very happy that with the support of everyone who joined the campaign, we succeeded to assure the funds needed for 2016.
