The Bobath Method for therapy for Children with Cerebral Palsy. Introductory Course.

On July 11th, 12th and 13th, 2016 /Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday/ at Karin Dom’s conference room, Varna.

Leading trainer will be Patrick Algoet from Belgium, Senior teacher in the Bobath Method.

This will be an interactive, practical course accompanied by a series of lectures, demonstration and practical sessions. The lectures will include: the Bobath concept, spastics, athetosis, the importance of communication, child development and play.

Course goals:

• Acquiring knowledge about the heterogeneous (mixed) character of cerebral palsy;
• Adding to the knowledge on the different types of cerebral palsy;
• Developing analytical skills for observation that can help the participants to choose and apply suitable therapeutic interventions;
• Practicing some specialized therapeutic techniques that can be used with children with cerebral palsy

The course is suitable for: physiotherapists, medical professionals, speech therapists.

Participation fee: 390 BGN.

The fee includes training materials, translations, coffee breaks and light lunch. The participants arrange their own travel expenses.

The training starts on July 11th 2016, 9:00. Schedule – every day from 09:30 to 16:00.

During the training, the participants have to wear proper clothing – pair of sweatpants, T-shirt and ankle length socks.
