Work Continues on the BCause Foundation Project – A NEW BEGINNING for Ukrainian Women and Children in Bulgaria!

On August 30, 2022, a virtual meeting was held of the organizations from the donation initiative of the BCause Foundation – A NEW BEGINNING for Ukrainian Women and Children in Bulgaria!, who shared the experience of their work. The projects are implemented in Sofia, Plovdiv, Pernik, Blagoevgrad, Stara Zagora, Varna, Lovech. Ribaritsa village, Yastrebino village, Dren village with about 1700 children, youth and women. Karin Dom, as one of the organizations in the city of Varna, which carries out activities to help Ukrainian families, also took part in the meeting.

The projects are aimed at dealing with the trauma of the war in Ukraine, the adaptation of children and their parents in our country, as well as curiosity and acceptance of Bulgarian culture and traditions. The positive changes that have occurred after several months of work by the various organizations working in the name of a cause were shared. In the beginning there was fear and pain. With a lot of patience and love, psychologists, play therapists, social workers manage to overcome barriers, predispose children and instill hope in their parents.

Through many different activities – psychological therapy, emotional support, games, events, excursions, the children and their parents, who have found their new home in Bulgaria, continue their lives with less stress in a more protected environment.

Most of the organizations are determined to continue working with Ukrainian children and women even after the beginning of the school year, despite the uncertainties surrounding the future of the refugees – whether they will stay in Bulgaria at all or in the given settlement.
