Work Visit of a Karin Dom Team in Turkey

In July 2019, a Karin Dom therapeutic team of 7 paid a work visit to Istanbul, Turkey. The team visited Acibadem Altunizade Hospital, where early diagnosis, surgical treatment and early postoperative rehabilitation of children are performed. We were able to visit the wards, listen to a lecture by Prof. Dr. Memet Ozek on protocols for work and surgery in various neurological conditions, as well as observe modern methods for diagnosing gait. We were also allowed into the Neurological Clinic. Dr. Burak Tatli, where examinations, diagnostics and therapeutic programs are offered for children with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions.

The visit was part of a Karin Dom project funded by the Velux Foundations to build an international partnership network for the exchange of knowledge and experience. As a result of the visit, we built valuable contacts and planned the next steps for cooperation. By the end of the year, the team of Prof. Dr. Memet Ozek will come to Karin Dom, where they will perform free examinations of children.
