Training for specialist from Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte and Sevlievo

On June 25th and 26th at the Training Centre of Karin Dom has been conducted a training on the topic of “Specificity of the most common diseases and conditions in children. Mental disabilities. Specifics of cognitive development.”

The participants (specialist working at centers for children with special needs in three different Bulgarian cities – Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte and Sevlievo) had the opportunity to get acquainted with the methods used at Karin dom, to take part in role-playing games and discussions; the specialists shared various aspects of their experience and received practical suggestions they can apply in their work with children.

The trainers Zvezdelina Atanasova (Methodologist, Training and Qualifications Expert) and Andreas Andreou (physiotherapist) presented videos, pictures and presentations providing information on some of the most common diseases and conditions in children, on sensory integration and the development of communication, cognitive and motor skills.

The trainees had the opportunity to observe group sessions with the children at Karin dom, as well as activities in the yard of the Center – gymnastics and Rebound therapy.

At the end of the training the teams shared their willingness for future collaborations.
