We Visited the Children from Two Small Town Schools to Tell Them about Karin, Ellie and the Superpowers
As a continuation of Karin Dom’s initiative, dedicated to reading books from the series “Karin, the Elephant and superpowers”, we visited children from two schools in small towns.
On April 23, we visited Ivan Vazov Elementary School, village of Lyuben Karavelovo, Aksakovo Municipality, Varna Region and we met with the students from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. The visit is part of an initiative that Karin Dom has successfully and enthusiastically implemented in recent months in various kindergartens and schools in the Varna Region and which is aimed at children and dedicated to the themes of tolerance, respect, acceptance of differences and the various superpowers that each of us owns.
The initiative was related to reading books from the series “Karin, Ellie and the Superpowers”, the author of which is Virginia Vasileva – a psychologist and psychotherapist at Karin Dom.
The storylines weave Karin, the Elephant and their friends into seemingly ordinary everyday situations. In these books, every child found something for themselves. And something for others. In order for more children to enjoy the wonderful books and the lessons they bring, Bistra Boncheva and Veselina Tincheva, art therapists and specialists in social activities at Karin Dom, joined in the reading, thus we managed to acquaint nearly 100 children with Karin’s stories and immerse them in the world of fairy tales with a moral.
The children were engaged in listening and were able to openly and enthusiastically name a superpower they believed they possessed.
❤We would like to thank the management represented by the school director, Mrs. Veska Doneva and Mrs. Snezhana Vasileva, deputy director for educational activities, as well as the wonderful ladies Mrs. Yordanka Parveva, Mrs. Magdalena Dimitrova, Mrs. Daniela Ivanova and Mrs. Lidiya Hadjistoeva – primary teachers who received us with warmth and opened their doors to us and the messages we bring.
We visited Hristo Botev Secondary School in the village of Vetrino, at the invitation of Mrs. Penka Blagoeva, pedagogical advisor at the school. The representatives of the Karin Dom team Virginia Vasileva, psychologist and author of the series, Veselina Tincheva, art therapist and specialist in social activities, Darina Raykova, project manager and Dimitrina Bakalova, project coordinator met with wonderful and inquisitive children, students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade.
The visit was part of an initiative that Karin Dom has successfully and enthusiastically implemented in recent months in various kindergartens and schools in the Varna region and which is aimed at children and dedicated to the themes of tolerance, respect, acceptance of differences and the various superpowers that each of us has.
The stories told by Virginia in the books “Let’s Play Together” and “Mommy’s Business Trip” brought young and old readers into the world of children’s emotions and experiences.

We carried out the visits in implementation of the project “Full and Comprehensive Early Support for Children with Special Needs and Their Families to Improve Their Well-being and Reduce the Risk of Social Exclusion” with the aim of promoting social integration and awareness.
