Mr. Ivan Stancioff was awarded “The Heart of Bulgaria” prize for his extraordinary charitable activity and the huge contribution for creating Karin Dom – therapy centre for children with special needs, situated in Stancioffs’ family house in Varna. The prize was presented on April 24th, 2018 by the ex-vice president of Bulgaria Ms. Margarita Popova in Sofia.
The award was given at a concert-ceremony organized by Art centre Karnolski for a tenth consecutive year. The concert named Different but Together gathered children and youth from different ethnos, religions and social status, who sang and danced together on the stage. During the concert, Art centre Karnolski presented Heart of Sofia and Heart of Bulgaria awards. These are presented to people, non-governmental organizations and companies who deserve acknowledgement for their artistic or community service work in benefit of children.
On behalf of Mr. Stancioff the prize received Ms. Aglika Markova, long-standing cultural attaché to the Bulgarian Embassy in London and a close associate of ambassador Stancioff. In her award acceptance speech, she said:
„Dear Snezhana and Dimitar Karnolski, dear Ms. Popova, dear guests, you can’t imagine how honored I feel to have the permission to receive this award. The award is called The Heart of Bulgaria and perfectly suits a person like Mr. Stancioff, whose heart belongs to Bulgaria. That is why I accept the award on his behalf and on behalf of the devoted team of Karin Dom believing, that it is hard to find more worthy winners for it.
