Today we are looking for a responsible and warm-hearted professional who supports and understands our cause and is willing to fill the position of Rehabilitator/Kinesitherapist at Karin Dom.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides specialized assessment and therapy for children with problems in neurological development, neuromuscular diseases, complex need for support, metabolic diseases, children with delayed motor development.
- Participates in the team examination of new children.
- Performs functional-diagnostic assessment and analysis of children’s conditions.
- Determines the goals of the therapy, based on an assessment of the potential and the way to achieve them.
- Plans individual physiotherapy program and frequency of children’s visits
- Organizes and leads group activities
- Creates individual programs for motor development of children with physical problems.
- Conducts movement therapy with the participation of parents and other children in the family.
- Participates in the preparation of the Individual Assessment of Needs, the Individual Support Plan, their periodic updating and the Report on the assessment of the achieved results. Prepares Team Opinions of the children and other required documentation for the work in Complex for social services (Family Type Foster Center) and other projects.
- Plans and reports individual and group work and the frequency of children’s visits.
- Trains parents and relatives to continue therapy at home.
- Prepares home programs for children from other settlements.
- Supports the building of communication skills by using alternative and complementary means of communication
- Maintains the documentation in children’s individual files.
- Prepares monthly reports.
- Participates in weekly team meetings.
- Participates in team case discussions.
- Participates in organized meetings with parents to discuss individual plans and programs.
Job Requirements
- Education: higher qualification: Bachelor’s degree, specialty Kinesitherapy, Rehabilitation, Medical rehabilitation, Ergotherapy
Experience
– Experience working with children with special needs and families
– Knowledge of health problems and diseases: diseases of the nervous system, neuromuscular diseases, multiple disabilities, metabolic diseases, etc.
Proficiency at:
- Professional attitude towards the specific duties of the position held, performance of the additional tasks set and their performance within the specific terms
- Skills for working with modern technologies (computer literacy)
- Specific social skills:
– ability to work with children and families
– ability to work with persons from different vulnerable groups
– skills for quick, adequate reaction and decision-making in a crisis, emotional conflict, implementation of crisis interventions, skills for adequate behavior when working with persons with aggressive/self-aggressive behavior and others
– good communication and teamwork skills.
