What is the Bobath Concept?<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Bobath Concept is a modern, interdisciplinary approach for the assessment and therapy of children with neurological conditions. It focuses on supporting the child\u2019s development and functional participation in everyday activities. It helps children gain better control over their movements, posture, and balance through carefully guided exercises and play.
Therapy is important because it supports the child in becoming more independent in daily activities such as sitting, crawling, and walking. It also encourages proper movement patterns and may reduce the risk of complications over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What distinguishes Bobath therapy is that it is not simply a set of exercises, but an individualized approach tailored to each child. The therapist carefully observes how the child moves and adapts activities according to their needs and abilities. Therapy is based on natural movements and everyday activities such as play, sitting, and standing\u2014rather than isolated exercises. This way, children learn skills that they can actually use in real life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parents are an active part of the therapy process and receive guidance on how to support their child at home, making progress more consistent and sustainable.
The goal of therapy is not only to acquire movements, but to create the conditions for these movements to be possible and applicable in real-life situations through active interaction with the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two-Week Intensive Bobath Therapy Program at Karin Dom<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Karin Dom is launching a pilot two-week intensive therapy program based on the Bobath Concept. It is designed for children with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions aged 18 months to 7 years, as well as for children with various motor and speech difficulties.
The therapy is free of charge and will be delivered by a qualified team of Bobath therapists. It includes individual sessions focused on: improving motor and functional abilities; developing sensory skills;
stimulating communication<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therapy Program by Days<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

1. Initial Assessment (Days 1\u20132)<\/strong>
– Assessment of motor skills using GMFM (Gross Motor Function Measure)
– Analysis of neurological condition, muscle tone, and reflexes
– Speech and language assessment
– Setting individual goals<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Therapy and Ongoing Monitoring (Days 3\u20139)<\/strong>
– Monitoring progress
– Adapting the therapy plan according to the child\u2019s needs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Final Assessment (Day 10)<\/strong>
– Analysis of achieved results
– Development of a home program
– Guidance and recommendations for parents<\/p>\n\n\n\n
