Dear parents,
the Water Therapy for Children with Disabilities and Developmental Problems program has ended. Thank you for your trust and great interest in water rehabilitation at Karin Dom. Although this is a relatively new service for us, our team has tried to organize the registrations and schedule in a very short time and conduct the sessions professionally and with attention to each child.
Our “swimming” team includes: Patrisia Eftimova (competitor in the women’s national water polo team), Simona Minkova, Daniela Nedeva, Mariyan Shterev – all of them are students at the Medical University – Varna, majoring in Kinesitherapy. The team works under the mentorship of Teodora Dimitrova, a physiotherapist with many years of experience working with children with special needs at Karin Dom.
At the very end of the program, 3 of the children took part in an adapted swimming competition and won well-deserved medals in the SOFIA CUP adapted swimming tournament organized by ParaKids. All three participated in the 25m freestyle event.
💝 Our wonderful champions are:
🏆 Samuil Kostov 8 years old – 1st place
🏆 Karina Krasteva, 12 years old – 3rd place
🏆 Lachezar Penev, 13 years old – 4th place

We know you’re excited about the answer to this question, and we’re also looking forward to the new program. The budget for the next calendar year of the Municipality of Varna is about to be adopted and the expectations are that this program will be recognized and approved again, so that children with disabilities and developmental problems have the opportunity to swim in Karin Dom.
Stay tuned for more information and registrations on the site and our social networks. Registrations and other information about the program will be published in due course.
One of the great advantages of the new Karin Dom complex, which we are proud of, is the presence of a swimming pool to complement the children’s physiotherapy. Our swimming instructors help children enjoy free movement in the water and practice their motor skills in a fun and gentle way.
The swimming pool measures 4 by 9 m, water temperature is 33 °C and is specially designed for children with mobility restrictions, it is equipped with a modern Hoist system – a functional and adapted system for moving children and people with disabilities, which allows more independent movement from the sanitary facilities and the changing room to the pool and back. This gives self-confidence and peace of mind to the child and to the rehabilitator.
We thank the Municipality of Varna for this opportunity!
