October 28, Qualification Training for Special Teachers: “Development of a Support Plan with the Participation of Parents and in Cooperation with Community Services”

Karin Dom invites you to qualification training for special teachers: “Development of a Support Plan with the Participation of Parents and in Cooperation with Community Services”.

The training was approved by Order No RD09-3558 of 13.07.2022 of the Minister of Education and Science and is awarded 1 qualification credit for special teachers working in the education system.

• When: October 28, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Self-preparation: October 27 – those who registered will receive their assignments by email.
• Where: The training will take place in the conference hall of Karin Dom, in the city of Varna, address: 86A Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd.
• Who is it for: This training is suitable for psychologists, hearing and speech rehabilitators, educators, principals, vice-principals, teachers, speech therapists, pedagogical advisors.

Description:

In this program, we will explore the options for teachers, specialists and parents to prepare a “Support Plan” together and to follow the path and actions that they have to follow together in the inclusion process. We will give a brief overview of the interactions in the personal development support team (PDST) and consider the roles of its members. We will pay special attention to the role of parents and the interaction with them in the preparation of the support plan. An emphasis will be put on the advantages of the social over the expert model of interaction.

During the training, we will look at the “SMART” rule in defining goals and tasks in the support plan and the challenges of working in an interdisciplinary team, as well as the importance of intersectoral cooperation.

Alongside the support plan, a “Roadmap” can be developed to help parents, teachers and professionals track the child’s path and actions, presenting opportunities for individual adaptations – we will dive into the features of this roadmap. We will also look at the human rights approach and the domains of quality of life defined by Dr. Shalock.
