Specialists from Karin Dom took part in a Sports camp for children with walking disabilities

On 5 September 2016, at the invitation of the Association “Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus-Bulgaria”,trainers from Karin Dom took part in the summer camp of the Organization, held in the resort of “St. St. Konstantin and Helena”. The professionals from Karin Dom – Zvezdelina Atanasova and Andreas Andreau, held a seminar for parents on the topic: “Movement and sport in children with walking disabilities”. They spoke on topics relating to the importance of physical therapy in all stages of the development of children, particularly children with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, what can be expected and what can be achieved with rehabilitation.

Experts introduced parents how often it is good to play sports and how to make the sport safe for children with walking disabilities. The examples given have aroused discussions and active participation of parents in the education, which asked specific questions, shared concerns.The most interesting were practical activities involving children and parents.Our specialists have demonstrated methods for facilitating movements of children, ways of support and assistance in a variety of regimen moments and situations, made a piece of advice to the kids and gave valuable advices. Special attention was paid to the inclusion of children in kindergartens and schools, and how they should move enough and together with the other children in a daily life and activities.
