An interactive training “Playgroups in early intervention” was held for Karin Dom staff from 10 to 16 May. The seminar is part of the preparation for starting a new service within Karin Dom Early Intervention Programme.
Among the modules included in the programme were: “Developing relationships as beginning of early intervention”, “Teaching approaches in early childhood” “Structuring the play environment”, “Group activity”.
Lecturer of the course was Mrs. Valentina Balobanova from Saint‑Petersburg, Russia. She is a developer and consultant of Early intervention Programme, speech therapist and a specialist in early communication. Having an extensive experience in early childhood development and early intervention, Mrs. Balabanova is author and co-author of many books and publications – including “Tutorial for Parents – from birth to 3 years”, “Mother and child – book for parents”, series for early childhood development – from birth to 12 months.
In Russia, early intervention service started in 1992 and is a part of state policy as a structure of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.
