Solvay Sodi

The partnership between Karin Dom and “Solvay Sodi” dates back to 1997. During this period the company develops its corporate social responsibility to support children with special needs, actively assisting Karin Dom through participation in many joint projects:

  • repair and equipment of the seminar hall of Karin Dom and an elevator thereto, allowing access to people with physical disabilities;
  • preparation of a room with a specially organized environment with “Montessori” materials in which each week over 35 children with special needs learn pre-school, school, social and daily skills;
  • construction of the first specialized playground for children with special needs;
  • purchase of special equipment for the room for physiotherapy, in which over 100 children annually receive therapy, and more.

“Solvay Sodi” also supports the Karin Dom’s Christmas campaign by sending postcards, painted by children, to colleagues and friends of the company.

“Solvay Sodi” AD is part of the international chemical group “Solvay” and the largest plant in Europe for the production of calcined soda with a nominal capacity of 1.5 million tons of soda a year. The company is one of the largest investors in Bulgaria, providing 1% of the national exports.
