November 29, Varna: Discussion on a New Strategy to Support the Development of Civic Organizations

Organizations from Varna region joined the initiative #АзДействамНеЧакам by discussing the problems faced by the civic sector and proposals for solving them.

Civic organizations have a major role in the development of democratic processes, the social life of citizens and civic participation. In order for them to develop successfully, it is necessary to provide an appropriate environment that allows people to easily come together in pursuit of their civic causes and to be able to develop their initiatives. For this purpose, it is necessary to adopt a Strategy to Support the Development of Civic Organizations, which reflects the problems faced by the sector and includes measures to overcome them.

In order to address serious problems important to our entire society, a union of organizations (Karin Dom, Bulgarian Center for Non-Profit Law, Bulgarian Fund for Women, Civic Participation Forum, National Youth Forum, Bulgarian Association for Alternative Tourism, Equilibrium Association, Foundation Impact Drive and Center for Legal Assistance – Voice in Bulgaria), standing behind the initiative #АзДействамНеЧакам, invites representatives of civic society in the country to join in a series of discussions.

It’s time to stop waiting and start acting and together shape the future of the country we want to live in!

As a result of the meetings, the aim is to identify measures to deal with the main problems facing the sector and to lay the foundations of the future Strategy to support the development of civic organizations.

The discussion in Varna will take place on November 29, 2023 (Wednesday), at 3:30 p.m. in Karin Dom at 86 A Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd

The meeting is organized by Karin Dom and representatives of civic organizations from Varna region that want their voice to be heard and participate in the search for working solutions for the sector can participate. The results of the discussion and the most important proposed measures to address the problems will be summarized and published on the ngo.vote platform.
