Leading Norwegian experts on inclusive education will teach their Bulgarian colleagues on best practices – in Varna on September 25th. At the invitation of Karin Dom, the Norwegian specialists arrive in the seaside capital to take part in an international conference on “Creating a supportive educational environment for children with special needs in kindergarten.”
The main goal of the conference is exchange and presentation of good practices from Bulgaria and Norway on the inclusion of children with special needs in kindergartens. Karin Dom’s experience has shown that at the earlier age these children are included in the general education environment of the nursery and garden, the more easily they integrate and build social relationships with their peers.
During the conference, experts from Varna and Bulgaria will also present their successful practices, ideas and work approaches, which can be taken as examples from kindergartens.
Speakers from the Norwegian state resources organization STATPED (an organization supporting the education of children with special needs) will present a video and case studies on how it is possible, in practice, to make the transition from special schools to inclusion in regular classes in mainstream kindergartens.
