Karin Dom participated in the National Conference “Good Practices in Vocational Training”
On October 21, 2021, colleague Zvezdelina Atanasova, director of the Center for Vocational Training at the “Karin Dom” Foundation, participated in a national conference “Good Practices in Vocational Training” organized by NAVET.
The aim of the NAVET forum was to promote opportunities for vocational training after completing their education or retraining, relying on vocational training in licensed centers. Despite the difficult situation, more than 50,000 Bulgarians have gone through qualification and retraining courses this year as well. The National Agency for Vocational Education and Training reports that compared to the same period last year (until mid-October), the number of trained persons has increased by about five thousand.
Vocational training centers from all over the country providing training in various professions, their students and employer partners took part in the forum. Those awarded as good practices were given the opportunity to share some of the experience through presentations and short videos. The Karin Dom Center for Professional Qualification was also among the awardees.
In her presentation, Zvezdi drew attention to the construction and validation of an effective social mechanism for significantly improving access to the labor market and professional realization for parents of children with disabilities, emphasized measures for the active inclusion of a socially vulnerable group of parents, by promoting equal opportunities , improved employability and provided full support for them and their children through therapeutic activities.
