Karin Dom has celebrated its 18th birthday with plenty of music, songs and dances

Children, parents, friends, comrades and benefactors of Karin Dom, celebrated together the foundation’s 18th birthday, with plenty of music, singing and dancing.

Music is a universal language – it unites and brings us closer together. Singing, clapping and dancing are the children’s favorites and also a part of their natural way to communicate!

“If you’re happy, clap your hands
If you’re angry, stomp your feet!”

All of you probably know this children’s song, that is sang in almost every language and with which the children from Karin Dom greeted the guests at the celebration.

For the past 18 years, the Karin Dom Foundation is working their best in order to provide the children and their families with access to quality social services in Varna, the rest of Bulgaria and abroad.

• Since the Centre’s opening in 1996 until May 2014 – 1541 children and their families have used Karin Dom’s services. For this same period, the children who had been integrated in kindergartens and schools of general education are 210.
• Each year, almost 300 children and their families receive therapy at the Centre and take part in the Early Intervention program.
• Since the beginning of 2014, 67 children are participating in Karin Dom’s programs. 70% are from Varna and the region and 30% come from other parts of the country or abroad.
• The number of the trained specialists and parents, until now, is more than 2300.
• More than 1800 students have been introduced with the activity of the Centre, since its beginning. More than 470 are the volunteers from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Germany, England and the US, France, Japan, the Netherlands, Cyprus and other countries.
