The Swimming Sessions under the “Water Therapy for Children with Disabilities and Developmental Problems” Program Continue

The “Water Therapy for Children with Disabilities and Developmental Problems” Program, funded by the Municipality of Varna, Health Directorate is conducted by a certified instructor and under the supervision of a doctor, and our goal is to offer an individual approach to the potential of each child. The program is free and supports the rehabilitation of children from Varna with special needs from the age of 18 months up to 11 years.

We are happy that we were able to attract a young and enthusiastic team that welcomes every child with a smile.

Our “swimming” team includes: Patricia Eftimova (competitor in the women’s national water polo team), Simona Minkova, Daniela Nedeva, Mariyan Shterev – all of them are students at the Medical University – Varna, majoring in Kinesitherapy. The team works under the mentorship of Teodora Dimitrova, a physiotherapist with many years of experience working with children with special needs at Karin Dom.

We are happy that since August another member has joined the water therapy team – Rumen Pavlov, a medical student who has already completed training with our supervisor and trainer – Daniela Sadikova (ParaKids).

We already have the first children who finished the program, and their parents shared that they observed an improvement in their children’s development:

– “He became calmer and more communicative. He walks less and less on his toes.”

– “The important achievement for my son is to gain self-confidence and not give up.”
