Café Société Club – Karin Dom’s discussion club for charity and philanthropy 

Karin Dom’s new initiative Café Société Club was successfully launched and the first three of the planned meetings were held.

With this initiative Karin Dom Foundation is aiming to bring the public’s attention to charity and to engage more people with the cause of the social inclusion of various vulnerable groups in Bulgaria.

Inspiring speeches on the first meetings in Varna, Targovishte and Ruse gave Mr. Ivan Stancioff. Mrs. Eva Borisova, president of Association “Roditeli” (“Parents”), participated in the meeting that was held in Varna. She told the story of how the idea for establishing the association emerged. She also shared the lessons she have learned in her life until now. Here is one of them: “Never doubt that you are the best parent for your child. No one could be a better parent than you, because only your heart jumps in this way, when he/she blows the candles on the cake.”

Partners of the initiative in the city of Targovishte is the Club of Non-Governmental Organisations – Targovishte, and in the city of Ruse – The International Elias Canetti Society

On the meeting-discussion Café Société in the city of Targovishte Mr. Ivan Stancioff gave an example with the father of the Nobel laureate Elias Canetti, Jacques Canneti. He used to go out on the street every Sunday to look for a poor person whom to invite to join the family meal. Most of the people considered this to be insane. Ivan Stancioff comment was “if this is insanity, may there be more insane people who help others”

“Charity – it is to love your neighbor and to help him. Mercy is simply love.” Those are words Mr. Ivan Stancioff shared during the meeting-discussion Café Société in the city of Ruse.

People from different social circles were invited and many of them took part in the discussion by asking questions and telling personal stories.

The next meeting in Varna is on 28th of November when guest of the Café Société Club will be the playwright Yuri Dachev.
