Introductory Bobath course – feedback from the participants

25 June 2015

Between June 8th and 10th, Karin Dom Varna held an introductory course on the Bobath Concept for therapy for children with cerebral palsy. Jillian Stern from Britain, President of the European Bobath Tutors Association, was our guest at Karin Dom and led the training of 30 professionals from Bulgaria. Jillian said that we are a very successful example for working with children with special needs and it is wonderful that we share our experience and good practice among other professionals in Bulgaria by organizing trainings.

We keep receiving feedback form the participants who tell us about the benefits of the training:

“With this letter we want to express our sincere joy and fulfillment from our participation in the training on applying the Bobath Concept.

The professionalism, the energy and dedication of the trainer, Jillian Stern, were fascinating and comprehensive for all of us, despite of the specific matter.

For us, it is an honor to have been part of the group that acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills on how to apply the Bobath approach to little children. For this largely contributed the excellent organization of the training, as well as the provided translation.”

Anna Nacheva – speech therapist at the Day Centre fro Children with Disabilities in Svishtov

We want to thank all participants who disseminate Karin Dom’s good practices in working with children with special needs throughout Bulgaria.

For us, it is of great importance to share our experience, to be able, together, to help more children and families. The world tendency of increased number of newborns with some kind of disability is growing. As a result, we need to have more trained professionals who can work with the children and their families, to help them develop their personal potential and become independent people. All our efforts help building a tolerant society that, we sincerely believe, will accept our children and will provide them with a secure and friendly environment in the future.
